From childhood, music was a treasured part of Libby Cannon’s life. Some of her fondest early childhood memories are of her father and uncle sitting in the kitchen playing and singing old pop and country music standards. From the age of eight, the guitar became her most beloved companion. So much so, she once told her husband Tom, when they were first married, that if he ever wanted to get rid of her, all he’d have to do is set her guitar outside the front door. Thankfully, over the last 30 years, he never took advantage of that rather unorthodox marriage escape- clause.

Libby Cannon accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Then at the age of fifteen, the Holy Spirit filled and anointed her to serve Him in the ministry of His Word. After her call to ministry, she began to write the songs that she sang. Her guitar and her lovely singing voice had become a powerful outlet for the message of Christ within her heart.

Libby has been an ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ since 1990. She is an esteemed Minister of the Word, Songwriter, and talented Vocalist. She has served as Minister of Music, Teacher, Associate Pastor, and now as Concert Evangelist. She also has authored several pamphlets and booklets on Christian living. During the late 1980s Libby’s writing ministry included a weekly inspirational column entitled "The Evangelist" published under her given name, Elizabeth T. Cannon, in two Florida newspapers.

Libby has been a member of the Country Gospel Music Association (CGMA) since 1999 and now works as the Pastoral Care Director for the Artist Music Guild (AMG) . Her debut Album, "Worthy" released in 2003, received rave reviews and her powerful vocals, poignant music & song lyrics have earned her several Silver Heart Awards: 2002 Female New Artist, Psalmist of the Year in both 2004 & 2005. In 2006 she was named Female Entertainer of the Year, and in 2007 Female vocalist and Shepherd of the Year.

Whether as Libby Cannon, the Songwriter, Musician, and Gospel Artist or as the Rev. Elizabeth T. Cannon,Pastoral Care Director for the Artists Music Guild, her mission has always been to spread the “Good News” of Jesus Christ.
